Here are the long model numbers for the B-165's
02-16BE01, B-165 Twin Automatic Tractor, 1982
02-16BP01, B-165 Twin 5-Speed Tractor, 1980
02-16BP02, B-165 Twin 5-Speed Tractor, 1981
02-16BP03, B-165 Twin 5-Speed Tractor, 1981
02-16BP04, B-165 Twin 5-Speed Tractor, 1982
12-16BE01, B-165 Twin Automatic Tractor, 1983
12-16BE02, B-165 Twin Automatic Tractor, 1984
12-16BP01, B-165 Twin 5-Speed Tractor, 1983

You can download the owner manual and others for the 1982-83 models from
https://lookup3.toro.com/request/request.cfm
Enter the long model number and type none in the serial number box.
Try your model number also and all that show up for ordering or download pertain to your tractor.

For priced parts lists go to
http://www.partstree.com/parts/
Put Toro in the 2nd box and your long model number in the 3rd box.

Your dataplate or decal should be on the rear hoodstand around the dash panel or on the rear fender pan below the left side of the seat.

thanks Garry, I printed a copy of the manual. a question, I jacked up the rear end and tried turning the rear wheels, not good, one wheel turned forward and the other went back as it was supposed to. then after about half revolution, both stopped as if something was in the gear, a little effort and one wheel turned but not the other, then the other wheel caught and turned. this continued as I tried to determine the problem. how big of a job to get into the transmission? it is a 5 speed manual thanks again, Flohio

Replying to your other transmission post here. What model tractor do you have? Will look for an illustrated parts list for it.

The transmission listed at Toro for your tractor is Peerless model 801-002. Go to
http://www.partstree.com/parts/
Put Tecumseh in the 2nd box and the 801-002 model number in the 3rd box. Hope what you need is there. You can zoom in on the drawing.
