I have a 317 John Deere late 70's early 80"s. The engine cuts completely off 2-3 times while cutting grass. Choke it and it cranks
right back up and runs good only to cut off again in about 30 minutes. the engine is a 18hp Onan retrofitted under warranty to
replace 17 hp Kohler engine that was recalled by John Deere. The following parts have been replaced recently. Starter/coil/fuel pump
battery terminals by a certified mechanic of many years. does anyone have an idea of what might be going on here?
engine runs strong and uses no oil.

Thank's James Newbold
