To add additional weight (barbell weights) off the trailer/tongue-hitch, make a three layered (each layer the thickness of the hitch/tongue) wood platform (dimensions: slightly larger than the circle of a 25# weight). From the middle piece, cut a slot slightly larger than the hitch/tongue. Sandwich the three layers together with a couple of screws to dry fit the platform over the hitch/ tongue. Once dry fit works, measure distance from edge of platform to the hitch/tongue hole. Remove platform and drill holes through top and bottom layers for hitch/tongue pin/bold to go through platform. Once all fits, put many screws in to the platform to make the veneer/sandwich secure. On flat surface, lay 25# weight on platform. Mark and drill hole for a vertical, PVC stack pipe that is just thinner than the weight's center hole. The hole in the platform should be slightly smaller than the OD of the PVC pipe so the pipe fits snug, but movable. To use platform, mount it on the hitch/tongue (bolt or pin through hitch/tongue hole) with the PVC pipe pushed down toward the ground. Stack weights over PVC pipe. Push it up to accommodate as many weights as you can get on until clearance is lost under the seat. Can get at least 100#s on the platform. (Long time reader: first time poster)
