I have a Wheel Horse C-120 Auto and recently put a sleeve hitch assembly on the rear. The question that I have for anyone who might know is: Does the cable lift system that comes stock on these tractors run through the tool box to the upper 3 hole tab on the manual lift arm? Does the cable ride through a tube that bypasses the hydraulic pump, and where the shifters would be located on a C-120 8 speed (I haven't taken the lid off yet to see exactly what's under there.), and then to the manual lift arm? And lastly, is there a linkage system that needs to be mounted inside the tool box to reduce wear on the cable/ inside tool box area?

Any help I can get from anyone who knows, or even thinks that they know how this system is supposed to work please let me know.

By the way, the heaviest thing I'll put on that hitch is a 10" Brinly plow if that gives you some idea of how much weight I'll need to be able to lift comfortably.

Thank You,

Andy Doyle

Try posting on the site below...I am not sure on the older C-Series. Is there two 3/4" holes on each side of the tool box towards the upper rear? If so, that is where the rockshaft goes to transfer motion from the cable to the rear clevis hitch. Some just run it from the tube to the clevis hitch, that is how it was on older tractors than yours. The cable hooks to the lower arm (lower hole) on the tractors lift mechanism. The tube for the Auto's is bent and the 8-speeds are almost straight. There are 2 clevis hitches on EBay that show all the parts.
I know how it works along with many other collectors. I have several 1978-1984 C-Series with this setup. Many new folks in the last couple months have gone thru the same thing as you...

Thanks for the info! I thought I'd better ask someone before I tear into it.

Thanks,

Andy
