I want to buy a snow thrower for my charger 12. I think it is a 1970 or 1971. What all will fit it? I found a local single stage that the add says fits a 518 H or 520 H plus more models. Will this work? looks like it would from the photos. DO I need any mounting brackets?

It may be model 06-42ST06 or like it. You can download the operator manual from
https://lookup3.toro.com/request/request.cfm
Enter the model number and type the word none in the serial number box. That will show you how it hooks up.

It requires a front quick hitch you may not have. You should be able to get one off a newer tractor and weld a piece of flat bar on each side so it bolts to the sides of your frame.

The snowthrower your tractor takes came in 2 pieces. The basic thrower and a completeing kit that mounted it to the tractor. The kit for yours was 6-9112. Go to
https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/index.cfm?xCaller=Toro
Enter 6-9112 and it will show how it was mounted with a long through bolt through the frame and a couple of bushings.

Make sure you get the lift tube and the what everyone calls the flag. These are what lift the snowthrower off the ground.

Thanks Gary, The gentleman is going to call me back with the model number if the person coming to look at this after noon doesn't buy it.

Looks like everything is there except the "flag" which owner told me he has everything to mount to what raises my mower deck. He thinks its a 90-94

Thanks for your help

It is 1980 (06-42ST01) or older because that was the last year to support the chute in 4 grooved rollers that can be seen. The first year to have a spool on the chute crank for the cable was 1976 (6-6215) but that can not be seen. Before that the cable just wraped on the crank itself.

Here is how it evolved over the years starting out at 37" in 1966
(1978) 86-42ST01 Replaces ST-376, 6-1211, 6-6211 plus 6-9111, 6-6212 plus 6-9112, 6-6212 plus 6-9113, 6-6213, 6-6214, 6-6215, 66-42ST01, 76-42ST01, Replaced by 96-42ST01, 06-42ST01, 06-42ST02, 06-42ST03, 06-42ST04, 06-42ST05, 06-42ST06, 06-42ST07, 79360, 79362

Sure will as long as you can come up with the front quick hitch and a flag.

Gary,

Thanks. I went and checked it out but looked in really bad shape so I will continue to look for a better bargain.

Thanks again

The 1991-92 244-H lists snowthrower 06-42SS01
The 1993 244-H lists 79261, 79262 and 79263 as working.

The 1985-86 211 lists 06-37SX01
None for 1987-88
The 1989 211 lists 06-36SL01

You can compare them at http://www.partstree.com/parts/
Type Toro in the 2nd box and enter a model number in the 3rd box.

You can download the operator manual for the 06-42SS01 from
https://lookup3.toro.com/request/request.cfm
Use 2012345 for a serial number

Perhaps it will help. Can't find one for the 06-36SL01 but it was replaced by 06-36SL02 for 1990-92

The 06-37SX01 ran 1979-86 but still no operator manual online. I have never seen one of these tractors or the snowthrowers for them.
