My C-120. I have the threaded coupling on the rod that connects the hand lever adjusted as far as it will go to combat slippage and am wondering if I need to replace the clutch plate. It has a thickness of about 1/8" left on the fiber plate. The pivot holes in the brackets have a little slop but not excessive. Time for a new clutch plate? Anyone know how thick the clutch fiber material is on a new plate?

Thanks.
Wooley

Hi Wooley, Yep !, my new PTO Clutch plate sitting in my workshop is 0.118" thick. Which may present you with a problem if yours is still good ?.
Toro Clutch Facing Part #4365. Rivets Part #6657....should be the same for yours, but check it.
Regards. Richard.

Hmmmm? Just remeasured with my $9.99 digi-caliper and it's .12. So not worn if new is .118. Different part though I think. I found P/N 94-6650 that replaces p/n's 114881 103140 103477 111238 103817 or so I am told by the eBay sellers ad.
It was slipping while mowing heavy grass a bit until I adjusted it. It's working now but she'll be blowing snow later.

Maybe there is another reason I why I am needing to crank down the adjustment to apply max pressure to the plate?

Okay, different Part #. Checked out a C120 1974 1-0480 Auto , not knowing what yours is and looks like they only produce Clutch Facing ready bonded to back plate, but may be thicker than mine is.
Not familiar with your Pto Clutching linkage where slack can occur.
Richard.

Start here to get your part number

https://lookup3.toro.com/partdex/default.cfm

Then google the part number and name

Just for fun...

When I went to pick up the 518-H I had made a deal on, the owner told me that the clutch had fallen apart.

Oh my!

He was right - the clutch fiber had broken loose from the casting. Dang!

So my brother and I sprang into action. The owner gave me some sandpaper and carb cleaner, his wife found a tube of Super Glue, my brother took the thing apart, and after a little clean-up we re-attached the fiber to the casting.

Brought the Horse home, and it has performed flawlessly for over forty hours. Long live Super Glue!

Try ebay and amazon for replacement parts.
