 Post subject: puller just sat there

hey i own a lowe's 753 and a suburban that i turned into a dragster/puller (still in process of building) and of course my beautiful workhorse 800 the 753 is my puller i locked the diff and got it up to 1170 Lb. and pulled the rear end out of it $180 later it drove again it pulled a truck and when the brakes were applied in the truck the tires spun freely but when we took it to the track to pull it hooked up tires crinkled rear dug in and it just sat there it did move a little though the tires did not spin the belt did not slip or not that i know of could it have slipped out of gear? :(

lol its a MTD brand tractor im also turning my workhorse 800 into a puller i have a twin 14 hp briggs with tapered shaft any recommendations on how to mount a pulley or clutch to that?
also the mtd or "Lowe's" 753 has a peerless 700 in it

i did find a way to mount the pulley i used a bolt in the end of the shaft to keep it from moving while welding then tack welded the pulley on it holds but now i need a fuel pump lol one thing after another :)
