I just changed the oil, new air filter spark plugs but the carburator is getting to much fuel and is flooding its self out. Im not sure what the problem is. Took the carb. apart cleaned it . Any help would be appreciated, I would hate to buy another tractor. I have 692 hours on this one if its any help. It runs fine when air filter isnt on it as soon asyou put the air filter on it seems like its flooding its self motor slows and chugs black smoke then pull air filter off it runs fine, but alot of spray coming from carburator.

Have you ever checked the valve adjustment? The intake valve may be too tight and barely closing allowing compression to blow out the carb. 692 hours are not many for that engine.

Gary,
Thank you for the input. I pulled the covers for the valves but I will have to wait until Tuesday and see if the local dealer has a manual for the tractor. My mother inlaw gave me the tractor but she lost the manual. I dont know if it matters but I have the Onan motor in it I have heard rumors that when it gets to around 650 and 800 hours those motors are known to blow the seat of the valve any truth to that that you know of?

Lots of truth to it but the cause is usually overheating because the cooling fins under the tinwork get plugged with grass clippings. They have to be kept clean on a regular basis. It is usually the rear cylinder that goes.

You should be able to download all the manuals from Toro.
https://lookup3.toro.com/request/request.cfm
Get the model number off the data decal on the rear fender pan and the serial number to get the correct year. If you have trouble post what numbers you can find including the engine.
